Regulatory Compliance Coordinator

Full Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Coordinator


Role Purpose:

The position of Regulatory Compliance Coordinator will report to the Executive Director. The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator will follow established policies and procedures to coordinate activities related to regulatory and accreditation agencies such as The Joint Commission (TJC), SC Dept. of Health & Human Services and SC DHEC and SC Dept of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services.   The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator develops and maintains the continuous readiness program that contains all necessary elements to sustain regulatory compliance.


  • Supports exceptional clinical outcomes and patient safety using knowledge of all TJC, CMS and state licensure standards and/or regulations.
  • Responds to inquiries by regulatory and accreditation bodies.
  • Conducts root cause analyses on known TJC standards and develops action plans to address all causes in collaboration with Agency leadership.
  • Monitors implementation of all regulatory plans of correction, reporting variances or deviation from the plan directly to the Executive Director.
  • Reviews available quality and patient safety data to identify areas of high risk;
  • Develops action plans to correct deficiencies and ensures implementation and monitoring of those plans
  • Works collaboratively with Agency leadership to educate leaders and staff at every level on changes in standards; incorporates changes into the regulatory compliance program.
  • Develops and maintains a continuous readiness program that contains all the necessary elements to maintain regulatory compliance; reviews the integrity of the program over time, reporting concerns and barriers to compliance and the Executive Director
  • Coordinates regulatory and accreditation survey activity (i.e. TJC, CMS, state, and/or mock survey activity)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree required
  • Minimum three - five years related experience
  • AOD Certification and/or Licensure preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and other core MS software)
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and build collaborative action plans to proactively resolve risk factors.
  • Excellent phone and customer services skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex and matrix organization with multiple and competing priorities.
  • Has knowledge of The Joint Commission, state licensure standards and/or regulations

Salary Dependent on Qualifications
